…Home safely and now recovered from the long journey. The rental car went very well for my travelling around Dunedin and Central Otago. These things (faulty fuel/air sensors) happen with cars… Rest assured that I’ll still be happy to rent from you on my next visit, whenever that may be.
We had a wonderful holiday, particularly when Liz, Margaret and I had the last week together in Bay of Islands. We managed the trip to Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach, places I had always wanted to visit. The whole holiday was full of such memorable moments and we look forward to the next visit.

“After reading all the complaints about car rental companies in Christchurch and looking at the prices, I decided to give Teddy at Anzed Car Rentals a try. He has older but well maintained cars. We got a Nissan Pulsar 4 door.
What a pleasant experience. First off, when you get to his office which takes only a few minutes from the airport (he picked us up in minutes), he goes over every rule and peculiarity about New Zealand road rules. We live 1/2 the year in New Zealand and 1/2 in USA and have driver's licenses in both places. I can tell you that he covered everything you will need. Next, he includes a chilly bin (ice chest) at no extra charge, freezing blocks and a nice thermos. Maps and booklets, and good advice
You can reach him virtually any time by phone. We forgot our camera in the car. By the time we had landed in Palmerston North (about 2 hours) he had already phoned us and made arrangements to have it posted to us.

…Comparing xxx with Anzed is like comparing a Ford with a Roll-Royce. Anzed's treatment of us has spoiled us for anything else.
If xxx was our first experience of renting an older car, we would regard it as very good. But it is not in the same class as Anzed….
Is there anything I can do to spread the word about the exceptional service provided by Anzed? You have loads of testimonials already and I don't think Trip Advisor cover car rental yet.
But if yet one more testimonial helps, here goes:
“I strongly recommend anyone thinking about hiring a car from Christchurch Airport to consider Anzed as an excellent yet much cheaper alternative to the big-name car rental companies.
Teddy, the very personable proprietor, will meet you in person and drive you to his office nearby. There he will ensure you are familiar with NZ traffic rules, one of which is strange even to keep-left Brits and dangerous if it is not explained carefully.
He will supply you with all the maps and guides you need and some that you just might need. And he will also offer to lend you entirely free of charge a range of enormously useful items from his Aladdin's cave of equipment: camp chairs, cool bag, ice packs, CDs and, best of all, a New Zealand mobile phone.
I have rented cars before in NZ and in Oz and the US and in many European countries but I have NEVER experienced such a warm, person-to-person car hire service, nor have I had elsewhere such confidence in the mechanical reliability of the vehicle. …thanks again for your help. Yes, all went well and the car gave good service. Much appreciate the refund (for the one day early return). Left you a can of fuel, which is full. I think I may have told you that I had to buy a little camp stove as they would not fly mine to Christchurch, and even if they had, with the concerns they raised about a faint fuel smell ( it was completely empty), I might not have been able to bring it back. So a lesson learnt. But the fuel was a spare and someone else may well want. Maybe it will still be there in Nov when I hope to get back with Bryce for some walking.

…the family had a great time in New Zealand. As driving is an integral part of our trip, you (and your company) contributed enormously for us to achieve that. The rice cooker was a great bonus and the phone does help alleviate additional changes. Thanks for the driving explanation. I tried my best to abide by the local rules but the tough one is definitely giving way to the on-coming joining traffic when making a left turn – subconsciously it’s difficult because it’s against what you have been doing on a daily basis!
We definitely try to keep to the speed limit and consciously paid for the parking whenever there’s a requirement; especially so in the bigger cities (e.g. Dunedin, Christchurch). As there is a possible lag in the traffic fines, let us know if inadvertently we broke some traffic laws. But I’m pretty sure we are clean.
We didn’t ‘clean up’ the car but we try our best to make sure we exercise the same attitude as if it’s ours back home. Do let us know if you find unexplained bumps to the car. Because there is no rear proximity sensor, we make sure we have greater allowance when reversing…
